Claw-Foot Baths:
The late-19th century, claw-foot bath continues to be a popular must-have item of the 21st century bathrooms. The amazing added bonus about these traditional baths, are they are contoured at the end where you recline, giving you that extra comfort.

Shaving Bowl:
An old shaving bowl set into a barley table to form a sink in the downstairs bathroom will work a treat when hoping to get the antique look. You can cleverly hide the plumbing using a delicate table skirt made from heirloom linens.

Bathroom Shower Curtains:
The dreaded shower curtain! It can be very difficult to find a nice shower curtain, let alone one that fits in with the antique look. I feel that you should go all out, complete your vintage tub with a retro-styled shower curtain easily made from a chenille bedspread. Hem it to the proper length, and install sturdy rivets to hold the shower hooks.

Traditional Designs:
The symmetrical arrangement of sinks and cabinets can bring order to a small space. 19th century style wall paper can look wonderful for a small downstairs bathroom/washroom toilet. I am a huge advocate of small bathroom with bold colours and designs!

Shop Smart:
Antique faucets with porcelain taps finish off an antique bathroom beautifully. However, to source them after purchase would have been difficult, time-consuming, and costly.

Grey Bathroom:
I LOVE the colour grey for bathrooms. Limestone counters inset with porcelain sinks and crowned with vintage mirrors can look simply divine! Getting the finishing touches spot on is essential, when hoping to achieve the antique look try old metal egg and fishing baskets to store your white fluffy towels.
