It seems that the end of summer is vastly approaching and that can only mean one thing- the emergence of autumn. So it must mean that it is almost time to pack away all the garden furniture for yet another year. It seems not that long ago that everyone was excited by the prospect of summer, everyone appeared to start frantically searching online for the best garden furniture and accessories or the best tips and tricks to making a garden ‘Summer Happy’! With barbecues and patio furniture bought and all of the wondrous garden parties we were going to host planned, it is an understatement to say that we were all disappointed by the wash out this summer turned out to be. Still on the bright side the UK was blessed with a handful of days of glorious sunshine, which meant at least the garden furniture was put to some good use.

Unfortunately it seems what little good weather we had has now come to an end and we are faced with the prospect of cold nights from now on in. So with no summer evenings to enjoy and no more opportunities to make the most of the lingering evening sun, it’s time to take down the garden lanterns and instead opt for tea lights and scented indoor candles as the dark nights approach. On the plus side however, at least with the departure of summer the level of work usually put into to maintaining the garden during the summer months is no longer required. What with no one to entertain it no longer seems necessary to prune it quite so much. Instead the garden can be ignored for a while and the sense of guilt about not getting the lawn mower or brush cutter out every week subsides. Not only this, but even better the arrival autumn means that we can give our interiors a bit of an overhaul to ensure they are in keeping with this autumn’s trends. There is no better feeling than being able to create that sense of warmth within a home as the dark nights draw in. So all that remains is to decide which colour scheme to opt for this autumn!

I love Autumn, and love having the inside of my home as autumn-y as is the outside. But then Christmas comes and the inside “feel” of my house needs to change. To accomplish this I use removable vinyl wall decals. I get mine from http://www.wallslicks.com. They have an abundance of colors and themes from which to choose, and their decals have a matte finish that makes them blend into the paint on the wall, so they look like they were part of the original interior decor. When you’re ready to change the room’s look, these decals peel right off with no residue.
