We’re more than excited about this year’s interior design and art fairs!!!
The 2009 SOFA Expo saw fifty five leading galleries from around the world offering their works by leading artists and designers.
It was an opportunity to explore the state of contemporary art and a showcase for internationally recognised artists and designers as well as up and coming new talent. Despite the recession, this was the place to see and experience the cutting edge of design.
So if you are looking to redo your home over the next year going to these types of event are ideal! Get all the latest interior design ideas with everything from guidance on the perfect layout of your living room sofas and chairs to the new contemporary must have art and décor. CBS Market Watch describes the SOFA New York event as ‘a sweet spot in the art market’. It is the place to sit back, as if you were at home, and feast your eyes on the brightest ideas and concepts in functional art, as if were, from the comfort of your own sofa!
As well as displays there were illustrated lectures presented by artists. A catalogue containing gallery information and colour pictures was available on admission.
Materials featured were diverse, from glass and wood to textiles, silver gold and ceramics.
If this all seems a bit distant, i.e. like us you don’t actually reside in the US, fret not there are London alternatives! Our favourite at Homes Suite Homes has to be The LAPADA Art and Antiques Fair, located at Berkeley Square in London, from 24th - 27th September. As well as the odd nightingale singing, the location will be the host to the crème de la crème of artistic design, including displays by interior designers such as India Mahdavi, Maria Pergay, and Jean de Piépape
So, on your feet and off your divine sofa, head for this fabulous show. It promises to be an amazing eye-opener for this year’s leading concepts in functional design and art. For this reason, if you adore interior design just as much as us at the Homes Suite Homes headquarters, this London event is not to be missed!!!
